RFOX Media Acquires 13 Million Customers in Southeast Asia

When RedFOX Labs acquired MyMedia Myanmar in Feb 2021, it placed a strategic bet on its future. With the acquisition of 13 million followers, 20 million minutes of consumed video each month and 35 million engagements, RFOX Media, post rebrand, will instantly be the premier media content platform in the country.

However, RFOX Media isn’t focused on just Myanmar. The Philippines will be the focus for its regional launch in the first week of September due to the upcoming RFOX NFT launch for Miss Universe Philippines and the KOGs SLAM! play-to-earn game launch. With so much going on in September for the RFOX ecosystem, the Philippines will play an essential role in the company’s reach and development.

There has been much talk of the recent coup and political issues in Myanmar, and many wondered how this would impact the purchase of the company made by RedFOX Labs. “The content side is just one facet,” said Ben Fairbank, CEO and co-founder of RedFOX Labs. “This acquisition is about what the platform could be and will be, not what it is or who it currently serves. As we now have a streaming platform through RFOX TV (to launch with RFOX Media), we are extending the offerings of the current MyMedia model to include TV, streaming, a KOL platform, NFTs and games. This new model is something much more complex than the existing one. We have spent six months getting the plan right and are finally ready to share it with the world.”

Despite the ongoing unrest, MyMedia is still boasting strong numbers across its platforms and MySport; its newest and smallest channel is an example of this, as can be seen below.

The importance of growing your audience once your products are ready cannot be understated, and to have a ready-made audience of this size, a team of people who have been doing this in the region for the best part of a decade, and several other cutting-edge ventures to combine forces with, makes for a potent combination.
